It was a 1976 Sportster, made in the worst year, on the worst day, by a pissed off guy who was quitting his job that afternoon. I swear it was the WORST bike I ever had for ANYTHING (and this is coming from a guy who goes around on an MZ Ratbike!). It had the worst handling, performance, reliability, electrics, you name it.
But I was young and all I had was a miserable old '71 Honda CB750 and growing up in America you were made to feel bad if you owned something so horrible as a reliable Jap bike that went like stink forever without having to put a spanner to it. So I traded my Honda and $200 to a guy with a broken leg for his Sportster.
