The Slapper

Someone was building an enduro project from a Transalp frame, a motor from the breakers, and a moto-cross front end, but sold it unfinished. When I got it I bought a standard Transalp front end and found that it wasn't just the front end that was from a Yamaha moto-X but the headstock too. So from then on it was always going to be a Q-plate rat and developed with bits welded on to fit fairing, box, & wheelie switch. Front wheel changed from 21 inch semi-knobbly to 17 inch to fit road tyres, and the rest developed over time with bits to hand. At last count there were bits from 18 different vehicles used, including Scammel truck, LandRover, Escort, MG, and a market stall.
Quite an all-rounder really: stunt bike, winter tourer, commuter hack, and track-day special as shown on the picture from Mallory when I couldn't resist leaving the top box on!
