OK, so this year I finally made it to Daytona Beach to see everything for myself. And, all in all, it was great - but very different from any bike events I been to in Europe, and also very different from what I expected.
The first thing that stroke me was the sheer quantity of bikes, and at the same time the small number of outstanding, memorable, personalized, call it what you want, machines - although those bikes that were memorable were of a quality rarely seen over here. The same goes for rat bikes, the pictures below show pretty much every rat (no survivals there at all) I saw in nearly a week among several 10,000s if not 100,000s of bikes
